PTSD & Trauma Recovery Services
Reclaim Your Life . . .
One Step at a Time
You survived the trauma—now it’s time to reclaim your peace. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
(PTSD) is not a weakness—it’s a response to surviving overwhelming events.
Trauma changes everything—how you think, feel, sleep, trust, and function. Whether it stems from a single event or a series of difficult experiences, trauma can leave deep emotional wounds that don’t always heal with time alone.
WHAT WE OFFER FOR YOU
What Is PTSD & Trauma Recovery Counseling?
At Cornerstone Wellness Center, we help people heal from trauma and rebuild a sense of safety and control using proven therapeutic methods designed for real-life recovery.
Why Trauma Counseling Is Used
Trauma happens when something overwhelms your ability to cope.
For some people, the after effects are significant resulting in
long-lasting Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
While for others, the affects are fleeting and far less invasive,
making it possible to live with symptoms without a formal diagnosis.
We support people, regardless of effects or impact, who’ve experienced the following:
Abuse (physical, emotional, or sexual)
Military combat or first responder trauma.
Serious accidents or natural disasters
Medical trauma or chronic illness
Grief, loss, or major life upheaval
Childhood neglect or abandonment
Common symptoms include flashbacks, nightmares, anxiety,
emotional numbness, sleep problems, and avoidance of reminders.
If this sounds like you, you’re not alone, and healing is possible.
The Goal of PTSD & Trauma Recovery Counseling
Our goal is to help you feel safe in your own body and mind again.
You don’t need to relive your trauma to release it. Instead, our trained therapists gently guide you to process painful memories, build coping skills, and reclaim your life—one step at a time.
We use methods backed by research and tailored to your comfort, including:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT)
Somatic and mindfulness-based approaches
How Trauma Counseling Helps You Heal
You don’t need to face trauma alone.
You don’t have to explain everything right away.
And you definitely don’t need to “just get over it.”
At Cornerstone Wellness Center, we offer far more than just therapy. Our trauma counselors walk beside you, honoring your story while helping you rewrite the next chapter, giving you stability, compassion, and expertise.
A Simple Story:
Meet Brandon
Brandon is a 39-year-old Army veteran who avoided crowds, startled easily, and had constant nightmares. He didn’t feel safe anywhere—not even in his own home. He told himself he had to “tough it out,” but inside, he felt numb and angry.
At Cornerstone Wellness Center, Brandon was matched with a trauma-informed therapist. They worked together using EMDR to gently reprocess his combat memories, along with somatic techniques to help his body feel safe again.
Now, Brandon sleeps through the night. He laughs more. He goes to the grocery store without checking every exit. He’s still healing—but he’s no longer stuck in survival mode.
The story of “Brandon” shared above is a fictional example created for educational purposes. It does not represent a real client or actual session at Cornerstone Wellness Center. We are fully committed to maintaining your privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Any resemblance to real persons, living or deceased, is purely coincidental.
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that can develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event. Symptoms may include flashbacks, nightmares, heightened anxiety, and emotional numbness. PTSD is common—and treatable.
If trauma-related symptoms are disrupting your daily life, relationships, or emotional wellbeing, counseling may help. You don’t need a formal diagnosis to seek support—just a willingness to heal.
At Cornerstone Wellness Center, we use evidence-based treatments like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, and trauma-informed approaches tailored to your needs. Medication can also be considered when appropriate and coordinated through licensed providers.
Sessions typically last 50 minutes and are focused on building safety, trust, and therapeutic progress at your pace. Your therapist will guide you with compassion and professionalism, using proven techniques to help you process trauma and build resilience.
Many clients see progress within 8–12 sessions, though treatment plans vary based on individual goals and trauma history. Your therapist will help determine the best course for sustainable healing.
You’ll be matched with a licensed, trauma-informed therapist with advanced training in PTSD treatment. Our team includes psychologists, clinical social workers, and counselors with deep experience and a commitment to evidence-based care.
