Counseling for Children
Helping Young Minds Feel Safe, Heard, and Understood
Children experience the world with wide eyes and tender hearts—but that doesn’t mean they’re immune to stress, anxiety, or emotional struggles.
When big emotions show up as tantrums, withdrawal, sleep problems, or changes at school, it can be hard to know how to help.
WHAT WE OFFER FOR YOU
Why Parents Come to Us
Child-Centered, Not One-Size-Fits-All: Our licensed therapists tailor every session to your child’s unique personality, developmental stage, and emotional needs—because no two kids are the same.
Safe, Play-Based Environment: We use proven techniques like play therapy and expressive arts to help children open up in ways that feel natural and non-threatening, especially when words are hard to find.
Collaborative Parent Support: You’re never left out of the loop—we partner with you to share insights, strategies, and practical tools to support your child’s progress at home and school.
Experienced in Complex Issues: From anxiety and behavioral outbursts to trauma, grief, or family transitions, we help children process big feelings and regain emotional balance.
Trusted Community Resource: Cornerstone has earned a reputation for warm, effective care—and for helping families feel understood, respected, and genuinely supported every step of the way.
You don’t need a “troubled” child to benefit from therapy.
You just need a child who’s struggling to express what they’re feeling.
Our role isn’t to judge or label—it’s to help your child feel safe, seen, and supported.
We create a warm, child-friendly space where emotions are explored gently
and kids learn how to cope, connect, and grow with confidence.
What Makes Our Approach Unique?
We understand that children don’t always have the right words to explain what they’re feeling—especially when anxiety, trauma, or developmental challenges are in the mix.
Our licensed therapists are trained in child-centered, evidence-based approaches that blend play, structure, and emotional insight. Every session is tailored to your child’s unique personality and needs.
You’ll see progress not just in how your child feels, but also in how they express themselves, relate to others, and respond to life’s challenges with growing confidence.

A: Depending on the child’s age, sessions may involve talk, play, art, or games designed to help them express feelings and learn new coping skills. Our goal is to make sessions engaging, non-threatening, and therapeutic.

A: This is very common. Our therapists are trained to build trust gently and engage children in ways that feel safe and natural. Many children open up once they feel comfortable in the environment.
A: Yes, with a few exceptions. We maintain confidentiality to help your child feel safe, while keeping you informed about key themes and concerns. If any safety risks arise, we will always work with you collaboratively.
A: Every child is different. Some show changes in just a few sessions, while others need more time. We’ll set goals together and regularly evaluate progress to ensure therapy is effective and responsive.
